Homemade dog food for a 45-day-old pup:

First things first, the digestive system of a newborn puppy is very sensitive, like a human baby.
The best you can try is feeding them the mother’s milk for about 30 days from birth. If the mother’s milk is unavailable, you can go for dog milk in the market. Be sure not to feed them Cerelac or cattle milk, which can upset their stomach.
After 30 days, you can start feeding them light homemade food. During this time, you can try out food like curd or unflavoured yogurt, paneer, banana, boiled vegetables with rice, and egg whites (do NOT give the yolk). If you want to provide meat, give the meat stock mixed with rice with small boiled pieces without bones.
Do not make massive changes in their diets just after you bring them home. For some time, feed them what their previous owner fed them, then gradually switch to other food items.

You could try lean meat like Turkey and Chicken, and feed them boiled and cooked. Avoid giving them fried or grilled meat.
Boiled and raw vegetables are also very healthy for puppies. You can experiment with various vegetables and check which ones your pet loves to eat.
Puppies can eat some cereals too like, rice and bread. You can feed your pup boiled rice or chapati mixed with meat, vegetables, or curd.
Fruits are a great source of vitamins and minerals for your puppy. You can add them in their snacking and treating.
When including dairy, limit it only to curd, yogurt, and paneer. Do not give puppies milk as it is not easy for them to digest.
You should surely avoid food items like onion, garlic, ginger, nutmeg, spices, dips, and sauces in your pup’s diet, as these are considered highly toxic and can upset their stomach.
Puppies tend to enjoy dog ice cream and dog cakes a lot. You can try making these at home once in a while or order them online from our website.
